Michael Eldon

Born on 8 August 1931 〔( St George’s, Nassau web-site )〕 and educated at St Catharine's College, Cambridge he was ordained in 1955.〔''Crockford's Clerical Directory 1975-76'' London: Oxford University Press, 1976 ISBN 0-19-200008-X〕 After curacies in Nassau he spent nine years on Grand Bahama, becoming archdeacon of the island. In 1971 he was appointed Suffragan Bishop of New Providence〔The Times, Saturday, Feb 26, 1972; pg. 4; Issue 58412; col B ''Church News''〕 and a year later the first Bahamian〔(Nassau Guardian )〕 Bishop of Nassau,〔(Anglican church in the Bahamas )〕 resigning 24 years later.
